SALEM, IL — A 40-year-old homeless Salem man was arrested early Monday morning on multiple charges including on an outstanding federal arrest warrant. According to Salem police, Edmond Harris was arrested after officers responded to a home on Shingle Oaks Drive alerting them of Harris’ presence.

He was arrested on an outstanding federal warrant for non-compliance in a 2018 case charging him with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon by a felon in St. Claire County. Harris was sentenced in 2020 to 5 years probation but in December 2021 was found to be non-compliant and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He was taken Monday morning to the Marion County Jail.
