James “Jim” Livesay

James “Jim” Livesay, 92, of Centralia, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Odin Healthcare Center.
Jim was born November 18, 1929, in Richview, Illinois, the son of Lewis Franklin and Dora (Haun) Livesay. He married Donna Sheldon, who preceded him in death on February 24, 1994. He then married Zona Mae (Wilson) Boldt, on April 8, 1995, and she survives him in Centralia.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was honored to participate on an Honor Flight, with other Veterans, to Washington, in 2019. Jim was a retired teacher, having taught in Irvington, Little Grove, and New Athens. He served as an Elder at Fouts Christian Church, and also served on the boards of New Horizon Christian School, and the Illini Christian Children’s Home. Jim loved gardening, and was an avid Orphans and Cardinals fan, and worked as a referee for many years.

In addition to his wife, Zona Livesay of Centralia; he is survived by his children, Julie Hart and husband Jerry of Centralia, and Joseph Livesay and wife Heidi of Centralia; grandchildren, Mollie Staats and husband Jason of Salem, Seth Hart of St. Charles, Missouri, and Emmaus Livesay of Centralia; step-children, Marilyn Chesnek and husband Bill of Ashley, Les Boldt and wife Nancy of Hoffman, David Boldt and wife Vicki of Fairfield, Robert Boldt and wife Jackie of Woodlawn, and Julie Klebba and husband Ben of Mt. Vernon; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and very special caregivers.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Dora Livesay; his first wife, Donna Livesay; and nine siblings.

Funeral services for Mr. Livesay will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Fouts Christian Church, with Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Fouts Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the church. Memorial gifts may be made to Fouts Christian Church or to the New Horizon Christian School, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to Osborn Funeral Home, P.O. Box 130, Dix, Illinois 62830.
