ILLINOIS (RFD) — Meteorological spring is here, and weather experts remind you should have several ways to be notified of severe weather. A weather radio, smartphone apps, radio, and television reports, and even tornado sirens should all be in the mix, according to those experts.
National Weather Service Weatherspotter Training Facilitator John Nell says weather radios are very useful.
He says sirens aren’t suitable for notifying you in all circumstances, most effective if you are outdoors.
