Peggy Hefner, 80, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 11:55 pm February 26, 2022 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born August 30, 1941 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Thomas and Geneva (Reed) Puckett. Peggy married Donald Hefner on November 26, 1969 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. In addition to her loving husband of fifty-two years, Peggy is survived by her son, Jeff Hefner of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Elesa Hefner of Carbondale, Illinois, Dyllan Hefner of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Jonathan Hefner of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and siblings, Beth Bruce, Terry Puckett, Tom Puckett and wife, Debbie.In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Cates. Peggy enjoyed crocheting blankets and reading books. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
