SALEM, IL — A crash Thursday on Interstate 57 south of the Salem rest area caused a chain-reaction collision that sent one driver to the hospital for treatment. According to the Illinois State Police, 28-year-old Brandy Talley of Decatur, Georgia was attempting to pull into the Post Oak Rest Area, failed to reduce speed, and struck three other trucks that were parked on the right shoulder of the entrance ramp. Talley was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported. Talley was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
