MT. VERNON, IL — The Mt. Vernon Police Department / Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Joint Narcotics Unit and Mt Vernon Patrol Officers served two search warrants overnight Friday resulting in three drug related arrests. The search warrants and arrests are the results of on going investigations by the narcotics unit.

The first arrest came around 7:42 p.m. Friday after the Unit served a search warrant at 628 White Avenue in Mt Vernon. During a search of the residence, detectives reportedly located cocaine and packaging materials. The resident, 37-year-old Amber K Jones, was taken into custody on charges of Aggravated Possession of 1-15 Grams of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver.

While detectives were still at the Jones residence a vehicle arrived. Detectives and Officers made contact with the occupants and identified them as 40-year-old Timothy S Washington and 50-year-old Glen M Ford. Both subjects were found to be in possession of crack cocaine and taken into custody. Incident to these arrests, detectives were able to obtain a second search warrant. This time the warrant was for Washington’s residence located at 402 Herbert in Mt Vernon. Detectives and patrol officers served the second search warrant around 11:18 p.m. Friday. During a search of the residence, detectives reportedly located currency, crack cocaine, cocaine and packaging materials.

Ford was taken to the Jefferson County Jail on a charge of Possession of a Cocaine.

Washington was charged with Resisting Arrest, Possession of 1-15 grams of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver, and Possession of 15-100 Grams of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver.

All three remain in the Jefferson County Jail with bond to be set.
