WAYNE COUNTY, IL — One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash on I-64 in Wayne County Monday morning.

According to Illinois State Police, around 10:50 a.m., 61-year-old David L. Hall of Grayville was driving his pickup up pulling a dump trailer in the passing lane westbound on I-64 at milepost 99 and had slowed down attempting to turn left onto the paved cross-over that had a posted “Authorized Vehicles Only” sign when an SUV driven by 22-year-old Cierra C. Wood of Cape Fair, MO failed to slow down striking the back of the trailer Hall was pulling.

Wood was taken to an area hospital with injuries. Hall and his passenger, 66-year-old Janet F. Hall of Grayville, were not hurt.

Hall was cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device. Wood was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
