CENTRALIA, IL — Bond has been set at $35,000 for a 21-year-old Washington, IL man charged with multiple offenses Wednesday in Marion County Court following an incident at the Centralia Police Station. Brandon Lykins was charged Wednesday with two Class 2 felony counts of aggravated battery to a police officer, Class 4 felony criminal damage to government property, and misdemeanor domestic battery, aggravated assault with the use of a deadly weapon, obstructing identification, and resisting a peace officer.

According to police, around 8:17 Tuesday night, they received a 911 call from a woman living in the 100 block of North Beech. She reportedly told police she was being held at knifepoint by a man who had cut her face and that she’d been held hostage inside her home for a half-hour. Her injury was found to be superficial and did not require hospitalization. The suspect had left before police arrived but after setting up a perimeter, Lykins was found on foot in the 100 block of South Washington Street. He was reportedly combative, allegedly kicking one officer in the face at the Centralia Police Station and slamming the arm of another in the holding cell door. Lykins also gave police a false name and claimed to be a juvenile.

Lykins is next scheduled to appear in court January 18th for a preliminary hearing and a first appearance with his court appointed attorney.
