BLUFORD, IL — Members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team executed a search warrant early Monday morning for illegal drugs at 319 Poplar Street in Bluford.

According to the Joint Narcotics Unit, multiple suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Justice Center for questioning. They include;

45-year-old Chad E. Pepple of Bluford for the offenses of Unlawful Possession of Weapon by a Felon, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

39-year-old Rose A. McCormick of Bluford for Possession of Fentanyl and Drug Paraphernalia.

57-year-old Angela R. Cates of Mt. Vernon for Possession of Fentanyl and Drug Paraphernalia.

And finally, 40-year-old Jeromie M. Kemp of Bluford for the offenses of Possession of Methamphetamine less than 5 grams and Drug Paraphernalia.

The warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation conducted by the MVP/JCSO Joint Narcotics Unit, who searched the residence and property, locating evidence and contraband. The investigation continued into the evening. Further information will be provided at a later date. This is the third time this year the High Risk Team has raided that address.
