CARBONDALE, IL — A Marion man is facing a gun charge after Carbondale Police responded around 11:30 Wednesday morning to the 900 block of East Walnut Street in reference to a report of shots fired.

Officers learned the suspect fired several shots and was seen running northbound from the area. No injuries and no property damage were reported as a result of the shooting. 24-year-old Bobby L. Barnes was located while attempting to run from officers in the 800 block of East Main Street. Officers quickly apprehended the suspect without further incident.

Officers charged Barnes with Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
