MCLEANSBORO, IL — Two groups in McLeansboro are accepting donations for Kentucky tornado victims.

Higginson Farms, located on Route 14 between McLeansboro and Enfield, is currently accepting donations to help the victims of the tornado that severely damaged Mayfield, KY Friday night. They are accepting household items, feminine products, shelter supplies, non-perishables, baby supplies, personal care supplies and pet food/supplies. You can drop off your donations at Higginson Farms anytime during daylight hours now through Wednesday. They will be taken to Mayfield on Wednesday.

There’s also another organization in Hamilton County that’s been created to help the tornado victims in Dawson Springs, KY. It is called Hearts for Dawson Springs and you can find out more by visiting their Facebook page or contact Connie Knight VanWinkle in McLeansboro on Facebook. They need a lot of adult supplies like adult underwear, feminine products, and all kinds of personal care items. At this time they are just requesting coats, hats and gloves. They are not taking any used clothing at this time because there is not a place to put those. Any non-perishable food item at this point is one of the most important items.
