Gloria (Dedo) Jean DeVivo, 77, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 11:20 pm November 2, 2021 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born May 8, 1944 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Angelo Andrew and Wilma Eileen (Reece) DeVivo.
Gloria is survived by her brother, Mark DeVivo and wife, Carolyn of Decatur, Illinois; nieces, Lindsay DeVivo of St. Louis, Missouri, LaDonna Welch and husband, Scott of Black Mountain, North Carolina; dearest and closest friend, Carol Voyles of Glasco, Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her brother, Mike DeVivo; and special friend, Virgil Nottmeyer.
Gloria worked as a registered nurse and was a member of Illinois Nurses Association and Kentucky Nurses Association. She was a member of the Women of the Church of God Missionary Society and of West Salem Trinity United Methodist Church. As an active member of her church, Gloria taught Sunday School, was a soloist and sang in the church choir, and served as a lay pastor when needed. She will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held Monday, November 8, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at West Salem Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 am with Reverend Harold “Bumper” Quick officiating. Interment will follow at East Hickory Hill Cemetery in Bluford, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Gloria’s honor to West Salem Trinity United Methodist Church.
