MT. VERNON, IL — The Mt. Vernon Police Department is alerting the public of scenario-based training taking place Thursday and Friday during normal business hours.

This mock training scenario will involve multiple first responder agencies, the Illinois State Police and National Guard Specialty Teams. The scenarios will take place between 8a-5pm in the 1100 block of Shawnee Street, 300 block of S. 2nd Street, and the Old US Bank downtown. All locations will have signage indicating training is in progress.
