GALLATIN COUNTY, IL — It seems alcohol played a factor in a two-vehicle injury crash in Gallatin County Tuesday afternoon.

According to Illinois State Police, 27-year-old Kassie E. Crowder of Evansville, IN was driving her SUV south on US 45 at Shain Cemetery Road as a pickup truck, driven by 36-year-old Miranda L. Carter of West York, IL, was parked off the roadway on the west ditch line with mechanical issues. Crowder’s SUV drifted over the fog line and rear-ended Carter’s truck. The impact caused the SUV to roll onto its side. Carter was sitting inside the truck when it was struck.

An ambulance took Carter to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Crowder refused medical attention.

Crowder was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and was cited for Improper Lane Usage and No Insurance.

ISP says no further information will be released at this time.
