OMEGA, IL — An 84-year-old Georgia man was rescued Saturday morning after becoming lost and crashing his vehicle near Forbes State Park near Omega.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Antonio Sedran said he was on his way to visit family in the Metro East when he missed a a turn into the entrance of the park and crashed his SUV head-on into a tree.

A park employee reportedly found Sedran’s crashed SUV and about 20 minutes later heard someone yelling for help.

Sedran was ultimately located laying on the ground about 300 feet away in the woods. He was subsequently taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment
