CARBONDALE, IL — A Carbondale man was arrested after Carbondale Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of East Cindy Street and Wall Street Tuesday night.

According to Carbondale Police, it was reported that persons involved ran from the scene. Officers detained individuals in the area suspected to be involved in the incident. Officers found an unoccupied parked vehicle struck by gunfire in the area. Officers also located one individual who suffered a non-life-threatening injury as a result of gunfire. That person was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale by an acquaintance. A second vehicle was later located several blocks away that had damage from gunfire as a result of the same incident.

In the course of the investigation, officers arrested 22-year-old Aarion P. Haskins of Carbondale for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Haskins is being held in the Jackson County Jail.

The investigation revealed the incident is related to a dispute amongst acquaintances and there is not any further suspect information to provide at this time. The investigation into this incident continues.
