BOND COUNTY, IL — Illinois State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Bond County Monday morning that claimed the lives of both drivers, one of whom was a woman from Breese.
According to ISP, a 2014 gray Toyota Avalon being driven by a 33-year-old Moline man was traveling southbound on Illinois Route 127 near Sale Barn Avenue when for unknown reasons he crossed the center line and struck head-on a northbound 2001 white Nissan Altima being driven by a 30-year-old Breese woman.
Both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles and both were pronounced dead at the scene by the Bond County Coroner.
Illinois Route 127 was closed between Sale Barn Avenue and Airport Avenue for about four hours for the crash investigation.
The crash remains under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
