CENTRALIA, IL — A 37-year-old Centralia man was arrested Monday morning when Centralia police reportedly interrupted a burglary in progress. Joshua Boyce was reportedly found hiding in the building in the 300 block of Shawnee.

Police responded to the location after receiving a tip from a witness who had reportedly seen a man entering the building. Boyce was taken to the Marion County Jail. He was formally charged Tuesday in Marion County Court with Class 2 felonies for burglary and possession of between 5 and 15 grams of methamphetamine.

He’s next scheduled to appear in court August 17 for a preliminary hearing and a first appearance with his court appointed attorney.
