SALEM, IL — A 38-year-old Texas man is in the Marion County Jail after he allegedly pointed a gun Saturday night on a clerk outside the Huck’s store in Salem. Gary Tanskley allegedly pointed the weapon at the clerk when she asked him to not park in the handicap spot.

Tanskley, who said he was moving from Texas to Michigan, was ultimately stopped by an Illinois State Police Trooper on Interstate 57 near Farina.

He was taken into custody on charges of possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated assault.
