BLUFORD, IL — Two Bluford residents were arrested on drug and other criminal charges Wednesday afternoon by the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit. Law enforcement conducted two separate traffic stops in the Bluford area leading to the criminal arrests of 45-year old Chad E. Pepple and 38-year old Rose A. McCormick.
Pepple was observed on a ATV on South Avenue and he fled from officers when they attempted to stop him. He was apprehended at 319 N. Poplar Ave in Bluford. Evidence was located and secured upon his arrest for Driving While License Revoked and Fleeing/Attempting to Elude Police. He was further charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver less than 5 grams. McCormick, an associate of Pepple’s, was observed leaving the parking lot of the Dollar General in Bluford and was known to have an active Jefferson County warrant charging her with Possession with intent to Deliver Fentanyl. Officers stopped her, arrested her, and upon a search located and secured evidence to additionally charge McCormick with possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine.
Both Pepple and McCormick were transported to the Jefferson County Jail and incarcerated with bond to be set by a judge on the felony charges.
