SALINE COUNTY, IL — One person was injured in a motorcycle versus car accident Saturday afternoon in Saline County. According to Illinois State Police, 30-year-old Noah Thillet of Shawneetown was turning south onto Illinois 142 from Bixler Road as a motorcycle driven by 19-year-old Riley J. Harper of Harrisburg was heading north on Illinois 142.

Thillet failed to yield the right of way and was struck by Harper. Harper was taken to a local hospital with injuries. Thillet was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way. Harper was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

Meanwhile, two people from Eldorado were injured in a one-vehicle accident in Harrisburg Saturday afternoon. According to Illinois State Police, 59-year-old Denise F. Thorne was driving her SUV south in the right lane on US 45 approaching the intersection with Small Street in Harrisburg. Thorne failed to stop at the red light and entered the intersection. At that time another vehicle was turning west from US 45 onto Small Street. Thorne avoided striking the other vehicle, traveled southwest across the intersection and came to rest in the Kroger east parking lot. Thorne and her passenger, 66-year-old John S. Thorne, were taken to a local hospital with injuries.

Thorne was cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device and Disobeying a Traffic Control Device for Designated Lanes.
