CENTRALIA, IL — A tip they received during a traffic stop resulted in Centralia Police arresting the driver and then four people on drug charges Wednesday morning at a Centralia motel. According to police, officers stopped 37-year-old Ian Meredith, of Salem, near the intersection of Poplar and Calumet in Centralia.

They subsequently arrested Meredith for alleged possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with a number of traffic violations. Meredith reportedly told officers they could find 49-year-old Sean Meredith, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, was at the Centralia Motel. When officers went to the hotel room, Sean Meredith allegedly answered the door, but attempted to shut it when he realized it was the police. Officers were ultimately able to push open the door. Once inside the room, officers reportedly found three other people and a large amount of drugs in plain view. Sean Meredith, along with 25-year-old Amber Tolliver, also of Salem, 30-year-old Lonnie Williamson Jr., and 39-year-old Aida Almodovar, both of Centralia, were all arrested for two counts alleged possession of a controlled substance, two counts alleged possession with intent to deliver, alleged manufacture or delivery of a look-a-like substance, and alleged possession of drug paraphernalia. Reports indicate officers discovered 130 grams of methamphetamine, 82 grams of fentanyl, 235 capsules believed to contain fentanyl, loaded hypodermic syringes, digital scales and packaging in the room.

All five were taken to the Marion County Jail pending a decision on formal charges.
