MT. VERNON, IL — A knock and announce warrant operation Friday morning in Mt. Vernon resulted in the arrest of a 35-year-old man on drug-related charges. According to the Mt. Vernon Police Department, around 6:30 Friday morning, members of the MVPD/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department High Risk Team served a warrant at a home on Herbert where Damion D. Thrailkill, was taken into custody. He was charged with Possession of between 5-15 grams of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Equipment.
The search warrant was issued after investigations by the Joint Narcotics Unit revealed illegal narcotics were being sold from the residence. The High-Risk Team was able to secure the residence without incident. Members of the Joint Narcotics Unit conducted a search of the residence and located quantities of methamphetamine, drug equipment, and packaging materials.
Thrailkill is lodged at the Jefferson County Justice Center with bond to be set.
