MARION COUNTY, IL — A 40-year-old Salem woman was arrested early Monday morning on multiple charges stemming from a high-speed pursuit through two counties.

According to reports, Marion County sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop Bobbie Haizlip on Route 37 south of Salem but she instead fled onto Cartter Road, then County Farm Road and finally U.S. 50 where she entered into Clay County. She ultimately ran off the road when attempting to turn off of U.S. 50 onto Ironwood Road in rural Xenia.

She was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding police, possession of a stolen vehicle, driving on a revoked/suspended license, and multiple traffic citations.

Haizlip had allegedly taken the car she was driving without permission.
