SALEM, IL — Bail was set at $30,000 Wednesday in Marion County Court for a 21-year-old Salem man arrested by Salem police Tuesday on multiple charges. Donald Fairchild was arrested at his home where a vehicle reportedly stolen in Fayette County was found.

Officers reportedly found him in possession of two types of narcotic pills and a glass pipe. Fairchild was taken to the Marion County Jail for alleged possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was wanted on an outstanding Marion County failure to appear warrant for possession of methamphetamine and an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, the vehicle reportedly stolen from Fayette County was also identified as being involved in a ‘road rage’ incident on Hoots Chapel Road on Tuesday after it almost ran a truck pulling an anhydrous ammonia tank off the road.
