Charles “Chuck” O. Taitt

Charles “Chuck” O. Taitt, 69, of Nason, Illinois, passed away at 1:26 am April 4, 2021 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born June 8, 1951 in Carbondale, Illinois to James and Rose Mary Taitt.

Chuck is survived by his mother, Rose Mary Taitt; sons, Shane Taitt and husband, Jim of Wentzville, Missouri, Drew Taitt and wife, Shelly of Iuka, Illinois; grandchildren, Anthony Slover and wife, Annie, Taylor Slover and fiancé, Drew Back, Aidan Taitt, Carter Taitt; great-grandchildren, Azlynn, Raegan, Emersyn; and brother, Mike Taitt of Hurst, Illinois.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, James Taitt.

Mr. Taitt loved fishing and riding motorcycles. He was a ride captain for the Patriot Guard. Chuck was a maintenance manager for Continental Tire for over thirty years. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 10:00 am at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Illinois with Greg Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Miner’s Cemetery in Royalton, Illinois Memorials may be made in Chuck’s honor to Brian Piper Memorial Foundation.
