SALEM, IL — A 31-year-old St. Louis man has been charged in Marion County Court with multiple offenses after he was arrested over the weekend in connection with a foot pursuit that led into a Salem home. Lamont Huss was charged Monday with Class 4 felony aggravated fleeing police, misdemeanor for resisting police, illegal possession of ammunition and possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.

According to Salem police, around 11:30 Saturday night, they attempted a traffic stop on Huss as he was headed towards the Salem Mobile Home Park. However, Huss reportedly ran from the vehicle and into a home in the park where he was followed by police. Huss then reportedly began to scuffle with police as they attempted to place him in handcuffs. Officers then reportedly found a gun and ammunition in the vehicle Huss had fled from.

In addition to being arrested on the above charges, it was also discovered that Huss was wanted on a Marion County failure to appear in court warrant in a domestic battery case.
