ANNA, IL — No injuries are being reported after a two-vehicle crash on I-57 in Union Co. Monday afternoon.

According to a release from the Illinois State Police, the accident happened at around 3 yesterday afternoon near milepost 36 when a vehicle being driven by 87-year-old Hubert Schauer of Anna was headed southbound on I-57, when he states that he was cut-off by an unknown semi, causing him to cross the median into the northbound lanes, where a semi being driven by 65-year-old William McLaren of West Frankfort was unable to avoid Schauer’s vehicle and struck him in his passenger side.

Traffic was backed up for about an hour for investigation. Again no injuries are being reported and no charges are being filed in relation to the accident.
