WAYNE COUNTY, IL — A Carterville man was involved in a Sunday morning crash in Wayne County.
According to Illinois State Police, 55-year-old James Schlindwein was driving a 2011 white Ford in the 900 block of Central Street in Cisne when he lost control on the ice. He left the southside of the roadway and struck a telephone cable enclosure. Schlindwein then re-entered the roadway traveling northeast. He then traveled to the north side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. He continued northeast across a driveway, struck a carport and the front bumper of a 2008 maroon Chevy. He stopped in a driveway. No one was in the vehicle he struck.
Schlindwein was taken to a local hospital with injuries. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
