Paul Dean Riley

Paul Dean Riley

Paul Dean Riley, 70, of Dix, was welcomed into Heaven at 10:12 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2021, at his home.

Dean was born January 30, 1951, in Centralia, the son of John and Wanda (Solomon) Riley.  He married Bernice Viola Hicks on June 7, 1970, in Sandoval, and they quickly began building a family.  They had three children in nine months and eight days.  She preceded him in death on July 15, 2019.

Dean was actively involved in the community at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and taught toddler’s Sunday school for over 25 years.  He served in the United States Air Force.  His family will forever have many memories of sitting at the lake, fishing together, and swimming in the pool.

He is survived by his children, Kerry Riley and wife Lea of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Kenny Riley and wife Adria of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Angela Roland and husband Boomer of Hill City, South Dakota.  He was also the proud Papa to fourteen grandkids.  In addition, he is survived by his siblings, Rick Riley and wife Norma, Diane Hall and husband Dean, and John Riley and wife Betty.

He was preceded by his wife, Bernice;  parents, John and Wanda;  and a grandson, Travis.  He now gets to spend eternity praising his Father alongside his beloved Bernice.  Together Forever.

Funeral services for Dean will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon), Monday, February 8, 2021, at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Boomer Roland officiating.  Attendees are asked to wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Monday, February 8, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service, at the Funeral Home.  Memorial gifts may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O. Box 130, Dix, Illinois 62830.  Online condolences may be made at www.osbornfuneral.com, or on the Osborn Funeral Home Facebook page.
