MT. VERNON, IL — The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association announces that it will be awarding over $58,000 in college scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to pursue higher education next school year. Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Bullard will be awarding one $500 scholarship to a graduating senior in the county. He says residents need to help the next generation any time they can.

The scholarships are to be applied to tuition, books and fees only.

Applications are now available at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office or on the ISA Website www.ilsheriff.org. Students must complete the application; answer the essay question and return all documentation to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office by March 15, 2021. For more information, please contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois Sheriffs’ Association, your high school’s advising center or your college’s financial aid office.
