CENTRALIA, IL — A Mt. Vernon man was arrested Wednesday by Centralia Police for two separate December incidents that included shots being fired and a home invasion resulting in injury. 29-year-old Kendrick Feggins was arrested on a Jefferson County warrant for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Building, Being a Felon in Possession of a Weapon/Firearm, and Armed Home Invasion.

On Tuesday December 1st, the Mt. Vernon Police Department responded just after 3pm to a report of gunshots fired in the area of 19th and Logan. No one was injured during the incident. During the investigation MVPD detectives were able to speak with victims involved and review surveillance cameras from the city to identify Feggins as the offender. A second incident involving Feggins took place Saturday December 5th, around 5am. The MVPD, Mt. Vernon Fire Department and Litton’s Ambulance Service responded to the 4100 block of Willow Springs for a report of a Home Invasion with injuries. Initial reports indicated a person illegally entered an apartment and battered two people inside. Both subjects were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

During the course of these investigations, detectives received information indicating Feggins was staying in the Centralia area. After receiving the warrant, Mt Vernon Detectives made contact with the Centralia Police Department. Within a few hours, the Centralia Police Department located Feggins and took him into custody.

His bond has been set at $500,000.
