SANDOVAL, IL — A 26-year-old Sandoval man remains in the Marion County Jail following his arrest Thanksgiving afternoon for allegedly stabbing two men at a home in the 200 block of East Commercial in Sandoval.

According to police, Kole Koehler was arrested Thursday in connection with stabbing a 44-year-old Walnut Hill man and a 47-year-old Salem man who were at the East Commercial home of their sister.

Both men were initially taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital before being transferred to a St. Louis area hospital for treatment.

Koehler, of U.S. 51 in Sandoval was arrested later in the day.

Koehler was arrested in 2013 after an argument he and his father over stolen property, resulted in Kole stabbing his father nine times. Koehler ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in that case of aggravated battery and was sentenced to probation.
