CARMI, IL — Two people were sentenced in separate cases in White County Court Monday.

White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud says 33-year-old Dustin P. Bell of Carmi was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with one year of mandatory supervised release for forgery – a Class 3 felony – and the same sentence for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance – a Class 3 felony.

Aud says both sentenced will run concurrently. The forgery case took place in June of this year. The unlawful delivery of controlled substance took place in November of this year. Due to COVID restrictions, Bell has a date to return to begin serving his sentence.

The Carmi Police Department was the investigating agency in both cases.

Twenty-year-old Shane Dill of Mount Carmel was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with two years of mandatory supervised release for arson – a Class 2 felony.

The incident took place in August of this year in Grayville.

The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshall was the investigating agency with the assistance of the Little Wabash Fire Department and the Mount Carmel Police Department.
