MT. VERNON, IL — A father and son from Collinsville were injured in a hit and run crash on Interstate 64 just east of Mt. Vernon late Saturday night.
According to the Jefferson County Fire Protection District, around 11:30pm, the pickup that left the scene apparently struck a second pickup causing it to overturn on its side.
The driver of the second truck, Chad Martin of Collinsville, and his father who was a passenger were both taken to Crossroads Hospital in Mt. Vernon for treatment of injuries.
The first truck was reportedly found later with no one inside at the Huck’s store on South 10th Street in Mt. Vernon.
