WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL — A Stonefort man is recovering following a single-vehicle crash in Williamson County Sunday night.

According to Illinois State Police, 32-year-old Christopher C. Deaton was driving his pickup truck north on Illinois 166 near Free Silver Lane just after 8:30 when the truck left the west side of the roadway, traveled through a ditch and struck a tree.

Deaton was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Deaton was cited for improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.

ISP says by 10 p.m., all lanes of Illinois 166 were back open after crash investigation and scene clean-up.
