WAYNE COUNTY, IL — A 69-year-old West Salem, IL man has died due to a one-vehicle crash Saturday in northern Wayne County.

The victim was traveling East on Wayne County Road 16, East of County Road 1100 East when his vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch on the south side of the road, and crossed Wayne County Highway 16. The vehicle would then go into the ditch on the north side of Highway 16, strike a culvert and come to rest in a nearby cornfield.

State Police have not yet released the name of the victim until notification of family.

 

A 36-year-old Fairfield man has died after being involved in a car vs. semi crash south of Geff in Wayne County Saturday.

Jonathan Stanley was northbound on U.S. 45 when a semi driven by 57-year-old Todd Bosler of Sandoval hit the rear of Stanley’s car who was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Bosler was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
