Three people were taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash around 3:30 just north of the U.S. 51 and U.S. 50 intersection in Sandoval.

According to crash reports, two juvenile passengers in a Van and the driver of an SUV were taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of injuries after the van reportedly crashed into the rear of the SUV.

The van, reportedly driven by 27-year-old Travis Paradee, of Mt. Vernon struck the rear of an SUV driven by 57-year-old Jeff Mount, of Salem, who was slowing to make a turn at the intersection.

The impact reportedly caused the SUV to run off the right side of the road and go into a roll.

Sandoval Fire and Ambulance removed the windshield from the SUV to help free Mount from the wreckage.

Paradee was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
