MACOMB, IL — A Tuesday night shooting at Western Illinois University in Macomb resulted in classes being canceled on Wednesday. The shooting occurred at Thompson Hall with one student being injured says WIU Interim President Martin Abraham.
The shooting occurred during a roommate dispute, according to a WIU press release. Police have identified the suspect as freshman Kavion Poplous, age 18 of Chicago. He turned himself into Chicago police Wednesday and is facing attempted murder, aggravated battery and aggravated discharge of a firearm charges.
