MT. VERNON, IL — Mt. Vernon City Schools District 80 is currently on full-remote learning due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, they hope to change that come October with a revised reopening plan.

Superintendent Aletta Lawrence says students will remain on virtual learning until Friday, October 16th.

Superintendent Lawrence says she hopes the change to a hybrid schedule for the 2nd quarter will bring about changes each quarter to eventually get students back in school buildings full-time. The decision to move to the different schedule was made at Monday night’s school board meeting.
