WASHINGTON COUNTY, IL — A 23-year-old Okawville correctional officer has been dismissed from the Washington County Jail, after he was arrested and charged with multiple felonies alleging he impersonated a police officer.
Ethan Foster was freed from the Washington County Jail where he had worked after posting $3,000 bond Wednesday.
He was arrested Tuesday on a $30,000 warrant charging him with Class 2 felonies for use of an oscillating, rotating, or flashing lights on a motor vehicle and false personification of a peace officer in attempting to or committing a felony, a Class 3 felony for, the false personification of a peace officer while carrying a deadly weapon, Class 4 felonies for unlawful restraint and false personification of a peace officer, and misdemeanor possession of blue oscillating, or flashing lights.
Foster had been hired as a correctional officer in January of last year and was relieved of his duties following his arrest earlier this week.
He’s scheduled to make a first appearance on the charges October 6th with a court-appointed attorney. The case was filed in Washington County Court on August 31st when the warrant for Foster’s arrest was issued.
The alleged incident reportedly occurred on August 19th.
