Centralia man arrested for DUI after fatal crash kills Wayne City man

WASHINGTON COUNTY, IL — A Wayne City man has died after his semi hit an SUV attempting to cross all four lanes of U.S. 51 just north of Irvington in Washington County Thursday night.

Illinois State Police report the SUV driven by 39-year-old Bradley Wilson of Centralia struck the driver’s side door of the semi driven by 50-year-old Charles Youngblood. Youngblood was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and pronounced deceased by the Washington County Coroner.

Wilson was arrested by ISP for DUI of Alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and failure to yield at an intersection. He was airlifted with non-life threatening injuries to a regional hospital.

The crash occurred at 5:01pm.
