WOODLAWN — An arson investigator were called to the scene of a residential structure fire Friday morning in Woodlawn that also brought out firefighters from multiple agencies.

Woodlawn and Waltonville firefighters were dispatched just before 9 a.m. Friday to a report of a home at 618 Green Street in Woodlawn on fire.

The first unit to arrive on scene reported heavy fire in the rear of the home. Jefferson Fire Protection, along with Ashley, Irvington Centralia and Mt. Vernon fire responded with mutual aid.

It’s unclear at this time who the victim was at the scene that resulted in the coroner being dispatched.

One firefighter was reportedly taken from the scene by Litton’s Ambulance Service for unknown injuries. Firefighters remained on scene until just after 11 a.m.
