JEFFERSON COUNTY — 16 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by the Jefferson County Health Department Wednesday.
Among those 16 cases, eight of them are new positive individuals that are involved with the second long-term care facility outbreak. Four of the positives are staff members and the other four are residents.
The other eight positive cases include a female in her teens, a male in his 20’s, a male in his 30’s, a male and female in their 40’s, a female in her 50’s, a male in his 60’s, and a female in her 70’s.
There have now been 320 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county since the pandemic began. 73 of the cases are currently active.
The health department asks that residents stay home and away from others if they are having symptoms.
If you do get tested, you should remain at home in isolation while you wait on your test results.
If you test positive or are a close contact of a positive, you will be contacted by the Health Department and placed on isolation or quarantine.
