SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS — Recent rains haven’t helped crop conditions across southeast Illinois.
Saline-Gallatin County Farm Bureau Manager Marisa Davis says the rain is coming a few weeks later than when it was most needed.
Davis says as pleasant as the cool down we are in is for being outside, it is not necessarily the best weather conditions for the crops. She says it needs to be a little bit warmer and drier for ideal conditions for the corn and bean crops in the area.
