WHITE COUNTY, IL — A Mt. Vernon man is facing charges after McLeansboro Police responded to a two-car accident at West Randolph Street and Fairground Road around 9:50 Sunday morning.

According to McLeansboro Police Chief Nathan Taylor, during the crash investigation, it was determined that the fault vehicle was driven by 40-year-old Philip Chapman of Mt. Vernon. He was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, driving under the influence of drugs, possession of methamphetamine and unlawful use of property for methamphetamine.

Chapman was taken to the White County Jail pending bond being set by a judge.

No injuries were reported. No other details were released.
