SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — With the Fourth of July weekend approaching, the Illinois State Police are reminding residents to be extra careful on the roads this holiday weekend.

Sgt. Christopher Watson with the State Police says we may be changing how we celebrate the 4th this year, but it doesn’t change what the police will be looking for on the roads.

Watson says police will be on the lookout for the fatal four, DUI, speeding, seat belts, and distracted driving.
