MT. VERNON, IL — Jeff Fritchtnitch has officially retired as Superintendent of Mt. Vernon Township High School. He knows district is in good hands with Melanie Andrews who was most recently the Assistant Superintendent at the Regional Office of Education #13, but he says the whole thing is still bittersweet.

Fritchtnitch was the Superintendent at Altamont School District for 10 years before coming to town and has been in education for more than 30 years. He says his most proud accomplishment in what he’s left behind at each school is simple.

Fritchtnitch’s says he plans to fish as much as possible and work as little as possible heading into his newest endeavor of retirement.
