Mt. Vernon Aquatic Zoo Opening July 1st With Modifications

MT. VERNON, IL — The city of Mt. Vernon has announced the opening of the Aquatic Zoo on July 1st for the remainder of the summer. No reservations for admission will be made in advance of scheduled session times. The price of entry will be $6 for ages 2-17 as well as seniors 65 & older, and adults will be charged $8. Due to limits on occupancy, there will not be a large group rate.

Assistant City Manager Nathan McKenna says several precautions will be taken, and new regulations put in place to provide a safe as possible environment for guests to enjoy the facility.

With the short lead time prior to opening and the shortened season, there will be no swim lessons, evening rentals or birthday parties, and season passes will not be issued. All regulations are subject to change pending guidelines from the State of Illinois.
