HARRISBURG — While Illinois continues its gradual phased reopening, local school districts are left preparing for possible regulations for in-person classes this fall. But they aren’t sure what those regulations are, because they haven’t been finalized and released to schools yet.
Harrisburg Schools Superintendent Mike Gauch says his district is trying to be prepared, but it’s hard to prepare for the unknown.
Gauch says his districting is planning to buy a few weeks worth of masks soon, and then they will be ready to buy more if that is a state mandate. But he is concerned with the financial burden for school districts if there is going to be a run on masks for kids in schools.
